Contemporary Romance, Single Title

Rick Chandler’s mother, Raina, has decided that it is time for her three sons to marry.  She maneuvered her youngest into marriage in THE BACHELOR and is back at it again in THE PLAYBOY.  She thinks her middle son, Rick, needs to find a good wife so she is faking a heart condition and trying to push the marriageable ladies of Yorkshire Falls in his direction.  Officer Rick Chandler is such a good looking man that the ladies are falling all over themselves to get his attention but he had one bad marriage and is not interested to try again -- aside from the fact that no one in town interests him.

Officer Rick answers a distress call and finds a beautiful woman stuck in her car on the freeway.  He doesn’t quite know what to make of the fact that she is in a wedding dress and has pink hair.   Kendall Sutton is the niece of an old friend of his mother’s and is coming to claim her inheritance – an old house that needs a lot of work and effort to make it worthwhile selling.   Rick and Kendall create sparks off of each other although neither wants a serious relationship.  Kendall intends to fix up the house and put it up for sale.  She plans to leave shortly and take off for Sedona, Arizona.  Rick makes a deal with her.  If she will act smitten with him, he will help her fix up the house and this should keep the ladies of Yorkshire Falls off of his back.  She agrees but can they keep their hands off of each other?   Then her teen-age sister, Hannah, shows up to complicate matters.

THE PLAYBOY is an easy-to-read book about a terrific guy and a woman who has been trying to find her place in the world.  Officer Rick is the perfect candidate for friendship and romance.    He is an extremely likeable character and Kendall soon finds that she cannot resist his charming manner.   THE PLAYBOY is an entertaining read with very interesting characters.  The three brothers are handsome, charming and delightful while Lisa is the woman everyone loves to hate as she tries to dig her claws into Rick and Hannah acts out the difficult teenager.    Rick must get over the trauma of his first marriage and Kendall is just the person to help as she finds her special place in the small town.   Once Rick’s fate is settled, we can look forward to the next book, THE LONER, as the eldest son, Chase, finds his romance.  Excellent series.
