Anthony Morehouse is rather irritated with winning a
piece of furniture in card game. What is The Ladies Fashionable Cabinet anyway? His
irritation grows tremendously when he finds out it is not furniture, but a womens
magazine. Tony was so drunk he really didnt pay attention to the stakes in the game.
Oh, hes paying attention now. Tony is not going to be the owner of a ladies
magazine, a fashion magazine of all things. Hell be a laughingstock among his peers.
First chance he gets, hell sell it.
Edwina Parrish thinks the new owner of The Ladies Fashionable Cabinet plans to take
it away from her. Not after all her hard work. What she doesnt know is that the
moment Tony Morehouse set his eyes on her, he decided to keep the magazine, even if just
to find a way to be around her.
Edwina and Anthony played together as children. One of their manners of play was to place
wagers on just about anything. They continue in this activity with all aspects of the
magazine, from number of subscribers, to writing articles and more. As the wagers
continues, the seductions increase.
ONCE A SCOUNDREL boasts delightful characters that make this book so enjoyable. Anthony is
rather humorous in the way he bets on just about anything that he deals with, including
Edwinas affections. Edwina is enjoyable, in part due to her intelligence,
independence and wit, but also in trying to ignore the way she is affected by
Anthonys attentions.
For a delightful read, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and pick up this wonderful book by
