Emma Frey transferred to New Orleans after testifying against
crooked cops in L.A. Emma
is a by-the-book copy and knows shes in for some hard times when she branded as a
traitor for testifying. Emma stands by her decisions and will
continue doing her job to the best of her abilities. But when she
is partnered with bad boy, do as he pleases, Detective Bobby
Halloran, Emma soon finds her job tougher than ever. Bobbys
killer smiles and good looks make it tough on a girl to keep her mind on bringing in
criminals and to not give into the temptation of falling into Bobbys arms.
Detective Bobby Halloran is walking the edge. For months he has taken reckless chances that threaten his job and
could end up costing him his life. Bobby is on the brink of
throwing everything away by breaking all the rules, as he doesnt find the justice in
his job anymore and feels like he is fighting a lost cause of cleaning up the streets. Being partnered with Emma Frey brings Bobby new challenges, yet a
peace of mind. Together they track a killer and learn a lot about
each other.
Emma and Bobby take a new look at old rules,
at themselves, learn that sometimes rules are meant to be broken and that off-duty passion
can lead to the greatest justice of all
love.
Michele Albert pens a very insightful look
into police procedures, burn-out and just how far cops will sometimes go to bring
criminals to justice. Bobby is a delicious, charismatic man that
a reader can enjoy. The partnership between Emma and Bobby is
entertaining and the sexual tension between them sizzles. Bobby
and Emma become very endearing to the reader. They are both
honourable and strong characters whose sense of right and wrong, although at time clouded,
know just how far, too far really is.
Ms. Albert writes a wonderful and suspenseful
love story with in-depth characters, good cop/bad copy situations and intense action. I am eager to read the next release by Michele Albert, hopefully very
soon!
