| Have you
ever wondered how men handle pregnancy? Do men even know what to do while their wives are
pregnant? Are men ever worried about
what to do AFTER their children are born? Do
we ever think of what the men are going through during those long nine months? Well S.L.
Carpenter has and gives them much needed advice and support for the journey ahead.
Based on his
personal experiences (three times over), he has written a guide for fathers to help them
through it, give fathers-to-be inside information, how not to panic when their
wives have mood swings, swollen ankles, post-partum depression and above all else....what NOT to say to your pregnant wife!
Mr.
Carpenter takes this book back all the way to the beginning of a young mans life,
their first whisker, first date, first kiss and the first time they have sex and
continuing into what young men feel, how to deal the with their bodys changes through getting
married, the pregnancy all the way to after the baby is born and to the babys
firsts.
MEN GET
PREGNANT TOO is a story with honesty, tongue in cheek humour, knowledge and love. It was also a fabulous idea by Mr. Carpenter to
bring these things to light and to help fathers-to-be stay calm during the pregnancy. Pregnancy can be a scary, unsure thing for
fathers (as I found out in this book) and through humour and understanding Mr.
Carpenter will set fathers at ease, let them see the
humour in much of it and ways to cope with the roller-coaster emotions of both
parents.
Readers
should have a box of Kleenex beside them when reading this book however. MEN GET PREGNANT TOO leaves the reader laughing so
hard that tears are running down their faces and nearing the end, there may be some
emotional tears mixed in when reading this
authors heartfelt words.
Besides the endless laughs, I enjoyed the openness and
candor that came from S. L. Carpenter. He has
a great deal of respect for women, loved going through the trials and tribulations of
pregnancy with his wife and readers can see how much his family means to him. MEN GET PREGNANT TOO may be a guide for
fathers, first-time or otherwise but the amazing and poignant thing about this book
is that Mr. Carpenters children will know what their father (and mother) felt while
they were pregnant with each of them, what they went through, how they handled it and they
will always have this journal of love representing the journey of their births. It will be their legacy.
S.L.
Carpenter brings the mans point of view forward and lets it all hang out (so
to speak) in this guide to fatherhood in MEN GET PREGNANT TOO. So grab your significant other (whether you are
parents or not), grab some wine, your copy of
MEN GET PREGNANT TOO and enjoy and learn together.
You just
might be surprised what some men are thinking!
