Arden Doherty became a family law
attorney to fight for women and children who cant fight for themselves. When two of Ardens clients, a mother and her
son are killed in a domestic battle, Arden has to fight to remember the reasons she became
an attorney and not lose her faith in the system. When
fellow colleague Shawn McIver stumbles across Arden in a moment of tears and anguish, he
feels compelled to take care of her and to be sure she is alright. But the more time Shaun spends with Arden he finds
himself falling for her and has to work hard to show Arden that it is alright to need and
lean on people some of the time.
When Shaun learns that Arden is being
stalked by an unknown, faceless danger, he sticks even closer to her and vows to keep her
safe. But Arden wonders who is more of a
threat to her....the faceless stalker watching her every move or Shaun, with his masterful
kisses and his sexy as sin body? Arden
doesnt trust easily and her mind, body and heart are in turmoil. She is afraid to
let Shaun in, but even more afraid to let him go. Is
Arden marked for death.....or for love?
This is the first book by debut author
Brenda Harlen....and definitely not her last! Ms.
Harlen writes passion, intrigue and danger as if she has been doing it for years. Her characters are sassy, compassionate, strong
and unforgettable. The pain of the past that
Arden carries with her and tries to forget is tragic and heart-wrenching. Seeing Arden fight her feelings for Shaun drove
this reader crazy but it was fun to watch. Shaun
is exactly the kind of man for Arden and I couldnt believe that she was willing to
let him go....or so I thought! Brenda Harlen
captivates readers with these two characters who fight for the greater good and for each
other. The edge of your seat suspense is
creative and very exciting. I have found a
fabulous new author to add to my list of auto-buys. Brenda
Harlen is a new sure-fire hit for the SIM line and an author to be on the lookout for in
the future!
Be sure to watch for SOME KIND OF HERO
coming in September 2003, the sequel to McIVERS MISSION.
