Let it Bree
Bree had entered her Brahman bull,
Valentine, in the First Denver Stock Show Competition and was thrilled and excited when
her large pet took the top award. She had
made a deal to sell her bull for millions of dollars if he won because she was so anxious
to start a new life and get away from Chugwater, Wyoming; but when she saw two men leading
her friend away, she didnt recognize them and knew they were stealing her prize
possession. She ran after them, jumped on Val
and made her get-away.
Kirk Dunmore is on his way to marry
Alicia when he sees the hitchhiker. Luckily
he was driving a van for her pet would never have fit into a smaller vehicle;
and even in the van, it was touch and go. He
was out of gas but able to make it to a small motel for the night with a field for Val in
back.
Louie and Shortie, two Abbott and
Costello-type characters, are hot on their trail. They
do not want to lose a million dollars that they can make from stealing the bull. Louies side-kick, Shortie, is a little short
on intelligence so aptly named.
When Val snacks on Kirks wallet
eating all of his money and credit cards, Bree and Kirk find themselves with a small
problem - no money and no gas. Val comes up
with a creative solution that turns out hilarious and causes even more problems for the
pair.
Kirk keeps looking at the Amazon,
six-foot, Bree, admiring her attributes and has to keep reminding himself that he is on
his way to his wedding. Ms Collins writes a
comical story in LET IN BREE as two inept robbers chase the couple. It is light-hearted funny road trip and all of the
characters are appealing to make it an enjoyable read.
Cant Buy Me Louie
Louie is in the holding cell of the
local jail thinking he lost his chance of going to the Florida Keys to open a fishing
business when Alicia breezes in paying for everyone to be released. Against his better judgment, she talks Louie into
going on a vacation to the Florida Keys where she promises him help in opening a business. It is everything he has always wanted so how can
he refuse but after three failed marriages, he is determined to stay single and Alicia
looks like trouble to him.
Alicia, or Bon-Bon as Louie calls her,
is a bit of a scatterbrain but she sees the dangerous looking Louie and she knows what she
wants and she has the money to get it. She
flirts and entices Louie but when he looks at her he sees marriage and commitment and he
wants to no part of it.
A former acquaintance, Rings, shows up
ready to kill our recalcitrant hero and the adventure continues
..
It is a little difficult to change the
villain of LET IT BREE and give him hero status but the thief and bad-guy does eventually
become a hero with the help of Alicia. She
turns out to be not quite as ditzy as first thought and Louie turns into more of a
gentleman; maybe they were made for each other after all if she can only convince Louie of
that! CANT BUY ME LOUIE is another
amusing tale from the pen of Colleen Collins.
