LAMBERT'S PRIDE

Lynn Coleman and Rachel Hauck

Heartsong Presents #574

Heartsong Presents -Barbour Publishing

March 2004

ISBN: 1-59310-077-9

Inspirational Contemporary

Elizabeth Lambert has a Type A personality. Two speeds on her Life Player are normal and fast forward. Graduate school plans dangle in front of her like a carrot in front of a hare. No matter where, who, when or why the carrot pulls her back on track, in-line-on-task. Until she meets Kavan Donovan, a handsome Forest Ranger.

Life, circumstance, and Elizabeth’s godly and young spirited grandparents seem to indicate Elizabeth’s plans are about to change. Grandma even brings God into the picture when she begins to earnestly pray for her young granddaughter. No matter how Kavan and Elizabeth like to think they follow their own plans it’s actually God designed. The two just need to realize it’s not folks acting ‘against’ them – Elizabeth’s grad school plans and Kavan’s troubled Forest Ranger career – but folks working ‘for’ God’s plan instead. Even though Kavan’s career seems doomed and stubborn Elizabeth refuses to budge from her stance, those around them understand God is in control.

To say more would give more of story away than you’d want and you’d not experience the discovery of nice tid-bits along the way.

Lambert’s Pride is a charming read. The story is sweet, characters good, and it's all wrapped up in a slim 170 pages so the reading is easy and swift.

I liked both author’s dedications: Lynn to her granddaughter and Rachel in part to Lynn for giving her the opportunity to write a book. Nice. The writing is very smooth with no distinguishable separation by the two authors.
