What do a mob Capo
(loosely translated mob boss), a struggling restaurant owner, and a wealthy CEO
have in common? Nothing. Nothing, that is, until Il Re is gunned down in a
mob hit. With his dying breath he asks for
forgiveness. Now, in order to get into
heaven, Ray must unite couples in love, as many as enemies he had murdered. His first two victims, err people, werent
meant to be together. They are as different
as two people could get.
Sarah Malcolm has
been raising her twin siblings and managing her parents restaurant A Taste Of Home
ever since the death of her parents. The
restaurant was her parents dream, not hers, but if she lets it fail, Sarah feels that she
would have let them down.
Harris Davidson
learned early in life that the only person you can count on is yourself and that work is
the only thing that gives him joy. He doesnt
let anyone in enough to see that he is in desperate need to love.
I was drawn into this story immediately by its
unique take on a bad past life and atonement. The
first two lovers Ray must bring together are so completely opposite in their views of love
that there is no way for them to come together. However,
Sarah believes that as long as she is strong enough and believes in love enough she can
help Harris see the truth about love. Harris
had a terribly sad childhood and his fathers depression proved to him that love is
nothing and he is better off in business where he has complete control. This story, Sarahs attempts to prove Harris
wrong and his continued disbelief of his worth of love, affected me strongly. The emotions are beautifully written causing me to
feel sorrow and anger, as well as the love. I
recommend it to everyone and find myself counting the days until the next book in the King
of Hearts series comes out.
