When Josiah gets home, he discovers his sister is dating Officer Monty Cahill, a man unworthy of her love. Cahill is a drunkard and a liar, and determined to make Josiah look bad. Getting into a fight in the middle of Main Street, Cahill knocks Josiah unconscious. When he comes to, he finds himself being nursed by his former love, Sally Dartland. 

When Josiah returns to the Army, he discovers much to his dismay, that Cahill is now his superior officer. Is it possible for them to work out their differences? And who will Josiah choose as his life mate?  His new love, Patty? Or his childhood sweetheart, Sally? 

Book two in the Battle Cry of Freedom Series, IMPRISONED is gripping fiction which the reader will not be able to put down. L. R. Bliss has a phenomenal writing style which will literally keep you on the edge of your seat.  

Josiah is so well-developed; he could almost walk into a room and you’d recognize him. I easily identified with both Patty and Sally too. Even Monty Cahill’s character is highly defined. You will come to care deeply for each one of the characters in this highly emotional story. 

IMPRISONED is a must read for any Civil War or romance lover. You will not be disappointed. Even though this is the second book in the series, it easily stands alone, but you will be so entranced with L. R. Bliss’ writing style you will want to read the first book in the series IN THE CROSSFIRE. The third book ENEMY OF THE VALLEY will be released in 2004.  

My only disappointments are that the book ended and that it isn’t available in print. However, it is definitely a book that needs to be in every reader’s collection. Pick up a copy now from www.awe-struck.net.
