| What's a woman to do when the boy she's grown up with
comes back to town, no longer a boy but a handsome man? She gets help from an unofficial
organization called Trouble - The Readers Organization Uniting Book-Loving Littlemouth
Elites. Stella Goody is a high school biology teacher with a
passion for gardening and an equally passionate dislike for slugs. Quinlan Gregory is a
journalist who has traveled the world and has returned to his hometown of Littlemouth,
Kansas for some rest and relaxation. But Trouble, made of women who are each no younger
than fifty-five, decide
that Stella and Quin are meant for each other and will do everything they can to get the
couple to end up in the state of happily married bliss. For the hero and the heroine, love
turns into a contest which frustrates the efforts of the ladies who make up Trouble. From
hunting slugs in Stella's prize garden to making apple pies for the county fair,
the couple are never completely out of sight of the town of Littlemouth's inhabitants.
I enjoyed this humorous romance with its spunky heroine and determined hero and the ladies
of Trouble were a hilarious bunch bent on getting the pair together. Will Trouble succeed?
At what cost? This is a must read for Kathy Carmichael fans and for those looking for a
light and funny read.
