GET SOME LOVE is
set in modern day Louisiana.
Angelica Chappee is
devastated when her loving grandfather died so soon after her uncle and grandmothers
deaths. Her grandfather had raised her ever since she was a little girl and chased off
every man that ever came near her.
When Angelica goes
for the private reading of the will, she is stunned to learn that her grandfather left
everythingthree thriving funeral homes, all his real estate, and a mass fortuneto
her. The only condition is that she must lose her virginity in six daysand have it
verified by a doctors note. Angelica doesnt quite know what to do. But
millions of dollars is a powerful incentive, and Angelica starts considering this. But how
does one go from Miss Touch-Me-Not to Hot-Lady-Love?
Juan Delgado doesnt
want to follow in his fathers footsteps. Hes an up-and-coming musician being
forced to work in the family dry cleaning business by his demanding father. Juan
reluctantly agrees to take a business trip down to Louisiana to check over some accounts,
but while hes there he arranges a few side trips to play his music in different
establishments. He doesnt expect to run into dark and lovely Angelica, who is
struggling with her own difficult decisions.
But things arent
all easy. Throw in a crooked ministers wife and daughter who will do anything to get
their hands on Angelicas fortune. Angelica doesnt quite know who or what to
believe.
GET SOME LOVE is
the first chick lit Ive ever read. I picked it up because I wanted to see what the
genre was like. It was a quick read, sprinkled throughout with humor, and an adorable
story about surviving loss, finding love, and discovering who you really are.
I hoped that
Angelica would remain true to her values. I was a bit disgusted with who the villain was.
All in all, GET
SOME LOVE is an interesting story with unexpected twists and turns. Ms. Foxx is an
up-and-coming author to keep your eyes on. GET SOME LOVE was completely entertaining, sure
to delight any fan of chick lit. Pick it up today. $13.99, 275 pages.
