Quince
Mendoza is running for his life. Quince is a
prosecuting attorney who is being hunted by Emilio Rodriguez, the brother of a man that he
prosecuted for drug trafficking. Quince holes
up at a boarding house in Tombstone, Arizona, which is being run by Charlotte, Faye and
Abby....ghosts! When gorgeous Kari McCabe and
her daughter Prissy arrive at the boarding house to stay, Quince knows he should leave
before any danger comes to these ladies, but Charlotte talks him out of it. But Quince still isnt sure because he knows
that Emilio Rodriguez will stop at nothing to get his revenge on Quince.
Kari
McCabe cant help but be attracted to Quince Mendoza, no matter how much she tries
not to be. Having such horrible taste in men
in the past, Kari hopes never to make the same mistakes again. But being around Quince brings Kari even more danger than that to her heart, as someone
keeps trying to kidnap her. Kari will do
anything to keep herself and her daughter, Prissy safe.
But is it safer in a house full of ghosts?
Will Quince be safe from a madman? How
will Charlotte, Abby and Faye cope with the dangerous elements added to their matchmaking
this time around?
Lee
Emory brings us a more serious tale with book 2 of the Widows Walk Trilogy,
GATEKEEPERS CHALLENGE. In book 1, the
Widows, Charlotte, Faye, and Abby, pulled many antics while playing matchmakers. In this tale they continue to bring those that
are destined to be together into each others lives, but with the danger surrounding
Quince, they have some doubts whether to make this match,
that could put all of them in danger. Ms.
Emory delves a deeper into the Widows histories and brings the reader closer to each
of them. Faye, one of the Widows, had some hard lessons to learn and to
overcome in GATEKEEPERS CHALLENGE that Ms. Emory wrote with flourish and strength in
her writing and to Faye herself. I thoroughly
enjoyed the Widows witty charms, their arguments, their snappy comebacks, and
getting to know them even more. Karis
daughter, Prissy, added heart warming emotions and delights to GATEKEEPERS
CHALLENGE.
Prissy
plus the Widows equals very entertaining reading.
Ms. Emory writes powerful
love, danger, adventure, delightful characters, wily ghosts and some surprises along the
way. I look forward to book 3 of this Widows
Walk Trilogy.
