Brittany
Engels came to Cherry Hill to save a piece of history and to redeem her good name. After a scandal that went to the Supreme Court,
Brittany is determined to prove herself and show those who believe her to be guilty, just
how wrong they are. But in saving an
important historical building, Brittany butts heads with the wealthy, obnoxious and
good-looking, Jeff Ryerson, M.D. Jeff is a
respected doctor who helps couple’s conceive when they are unable to and he has
invested millions of dollars into turning an old courthouse, that is on it’s last
legs, into a medical facility that would benefit his patients. He finds it ridiculous that he has to prove to
the city council and Brittany Engels, that the medical tacitly would also be beneficial to
the town after they have already signed an agreement with him.
The
more time Jeff and Brittany spend together, the more drawn to each other they become. Or is it the three ghosts, Charlotte, Faye and
Abby, the Widow’s who play matchmaker that are floating around Cherry Hill? Will Jeff stand by Brittany when he learns the
secret she is determined to keep from him? Will
the Widow matchmakers bring these two lost souls together?
Will the Widows be forgiven for their sins from the past?
GATEKEEPER’S
PROMISE is a delightfully entertaining read. Lee
Emory pens a paranormal romance that is witty, suspenseful and romantic, bringing it
together with humour and excitement. The
Widow ghosts, Charlotte, Faye and Abby, bring humour and wit to this tale, keeping the
reader fully entertained and wondering what they will do next. Jeff and Brittany do not trust easily and fight
their attraction to each other, which is even more difficult with the Widow’s pushing
them into each other’s arms. I was
intrigued about the scandal that Brittany was determined to clear her name of and eager to
get to the bottom of it. Brittany’s
goals were to redeem her name and save the historical courthouse, not find love in Cherry
Hill. All of these characters were
entertaining and captivating. Throw in Jeff’s
ex-wife and the Widow’s determination to make a love match, it makes for a very
entertaining tale. GATEKEEPER’S
PROMISE is a wonderfully written tale by Lee Emory.
Readers can find delight in the pages, be left smiling and wondering what
the Widow’s will be up to next.
