Cami and Jason were good friends when she gave birth to her son. Jason wanted to marry her, but Cami refused. Now, six years later, Cami has returned to her hometown with Robbie. Jason feels hopeful, yet is still hurt that she left and took his godson for three years.
Cami needs to find a job to support Robbie. Jason has a temporary opening for a bookkeeper and hires her to fill it. Cami has a big secret from her past and fears telling Jason will destroy their growing relationship.
After Jason learns the secret, he has to decide whether he is going to judge her and end the relationship, or forgive her.
The main thought that came to mind as I finished this story was that it was sweet. It had the elements of an inspirational romance such as faith in God, praying about their problems and attending church. But the author also avoided descriptions of lust toward each other, and their physical contact consisted of hugs, and holding hands.
The author’s belief that God can help us in all our troubles came through loud and clear. She is to be commended for an interesting tale that includes real problems and real solutions.
