Debonair
Devlin Ryland returns to London a hero for his courage
and selfless
act of rescuing a fellow soldier. Devlin
doesn’t wish for the lime-light which shadows him and escapes the city,
only to
encounter a beauty who wants nothing to do with him.
Lady Blythe Christian makes him want things he
never thought he’d desire and has him wanted to be a hero…who belongs
to her.
Lady Blythe
Christian hides from the pain and shame of her betrothed marrying
another. After two years of escaping
society, Blythe
was starting to forget the wounds of the past until she meets Devlin
Ryland,
the man who had saved her once fiancée.
Whenever Devlin is near, Blythe is forced to
remember things she had
hoped were over, yet her feelings are not all of bad memories, as her
body and
heart feel more for Devlin than she would care to.
Devlin and
Blythe are forced to face their pasts if there is any hope for their
futures. Can they succeed to banish old
pains and find a love that could heal their tortured souls and broken
hearts?
Kathryn
Smith is a power-house of an author with her historical romance, For the First Time. In-depth
and engaging characters, as well as
the primary and secondary ones, make this tale all the more enchanting. A tale of love, heartache, forgiveness and
understanding, draws the reader into the story, keeping them riveted
until the
very end. Devlin is a strong and
compelling hero who is very easy to love.
Both he and Blythe have vulnerabilities which make
them real and genuine
to the reader.
For the First Time is a passionate,
exciting and well-written
story that is outstanding. I hope that Ms.
Smith has plans to write about Devlin’s brothers, I feel they would
make great
heroes in their own stories.
