Living
and running an Inn on the Coastal shores of Drifting, Connecticut, Claire lives with her
husband Eli and misses her children fiercely while they are away in college.
Since
she was a small child, Claire has always wondered about her mother and why she left her
one day and never looked back.
Claire
feels the need to locate her own mother more and more when young, seven year old Kayla,
who is blind, along with her father Nicholas come to stay at the Inn. Claire feels drawn to the young girl, especially
when secrets are revealed about Kaylas father Nicholas. Claire is desperate to save Kayla.
Heart-stopping
and powerful . Stephanie Gertler eloquently
writes an emotional tale of relationships between mothers and daughters that grab hold of
the reader. The characters are dynamite, the
setting comes alive and the twists and turns will keep the reader turning the pages in a
hurry. Expect the unexpected!
DRIFTING
is a tale that shows the relationship of mothers and daughters, how that relationship can
overcome any obstacle and transcends time. Claire
is a strong heroine who I found to be the perfect example of a mother and a heroine. It doesnt take Claire long to weave her way
into the readers hearts.
Ms.
Gertler provides readers with a heart-wrenching and moving tale that will have readers in
need of a box of tissues. This is a poignant
tale that readers will still be thinking about long after the last page is read.
There
is no love like that between a mother and her daughter.
Stephanie Gertler is a powerful writer, one who is unforgettable!
