Elizabeth
Carrington’s life is in danger and it is up to Wesley “Hawk”
Monroe to protect her. International crime boss, Jorak Zhukov failed
in his last attempt to exact his revenge on the Carrington family when
he went
after Elizabeth’s sister, Miranda, and
has now set his sights on Elizabeth.
Hawk rushes to Calgary, Canada to protect Elizabeth when her father contacts
him to
bring her home, knowing that Hawk is the man to get the job done. For
two
years Hawk hasn’t seen Elizabeth, except in his dreams
and
fantasies. Two years ago he and Elizabeth
shared an unforgettably passionate night in each others arms. Even though Hawk knows he has never gotten
over Elizabeth, he is surprised that
his feelings for her are as intense
as ever when he sees her again.
Elizabeth
Carrington likes having the control in her life. She
has plans for her life and walks on the
safe side, never throwing caution to the wind or spontaneity. But her one night with Wesley “Hawk” Monroe
two years ago, she let down her guard, threw caution to the wind ,
found the
ultimate pleasure in his arms, but then walked away.
Now, face to face with Hawk again, she’s not
too sure walking away will be any easier this time than it was the last. There is a dangerous mad man out to kill her
but Elizabeth wonders who is more
dangerous, when
she realizes that her heart needs protecting too.
Hawk will
lay down his life for Elizabeth, but can they trust each
other to stop
a mad man who is hell-bent on destroying the Carrington’s and anyone
who gets
in his way?
Wesley
“Hawk” Monroe… I don’t think I have
liked a Jenna Mills hero as much as I
do Hawk in her latest creation, Crossfire. We once again we go on an exciting adventure
with the Carrington family who has the evil crime boss Jorak Zhukov
vowing
revenge on the family. This is another
one sitting read. The intensity between
Hawk and Elizabeth is high-voltage and
sparks fly. The danger adds even more
roller-coaster
emotions to the story. Hawk is a sexy
Alpha male who meets his match with Elizabeth.
Both have to be in control of every situation and
it’s entertaining to
see who ultimately surrenders.
Jenna Mills
once again proves she is one of the best at writing romantic suspense,
with
strong-willed heroines who are the perfect match for the Alpha male
heroes in
her stories. Suspense, sexual tension,
excitement and danger are all found in Crossfire. Romantic suspense fans won’t want to miss it.
Be on the
lookout for Elizabeth’s twin brother, Ethan,
with his own
story in April 2004, Shock Waves.
The wait will be too long for the conclusion to
the Carrington Adventures.
