CHANCE MCCALL by Sharon Sala

Chance McCall came to the Triple T Ranch years ago at the age of twenty.  He was a dream come true for eleven year old Jennifer Ann Tyler.  Chance became her friend, her confidant and the only man she would ever love.  Through the years Jenny and Chance were inseparable.  Chance answered all of her questions, made her feel special and he was all hers.  But now that Jenny’s all grown-up, a young woman of twenty years, Chance sees her in a whole different way and keeps his distance so he doesn’t give into temptation.  Chance knows that Jenny isn’t the woman for him, he has a troublesome past and isn’t sure of the future.  Chance loves Jenny will all his heart, but won’t over-step his bounds and make the boss’s daughter his own, no matter how desperately he wants her.

But when a horrible accident takes Chance’s memories, he returns to the ranch with Jenny to try and get his memories back by being home on the ranch where he spent all his time.  Chance soon realizes that he loves Jenny Tyler, despite the fact that he can’t remember the past or if they had a relationship.  Chance decides to leave the Triple T Ranch and Jenny to seek the answers to his past.  The only thing Chance has to go on is a matchbook for a gas station that was in the suitcase that he brought with him years ago.  Chance knows he and Jenny have no future together until the past is brought to life.

Will Jenny and Chance finally have their chance at happiness?   Will Jenny and Chance even have a future once the past is resurrected?

A wonderful love story can be found in the pages of CHANCE McCALL by Sharon Sala.  Chance is a strong, mysterious cowboy who saunters right off the pages and into the heart of the reader.   The pain he endures, the temptations he struggles with in keeping his distance from Jenny, as well as his honour, show he is a man that any woman would be lucky to have in her life and that he has a heart of gold beneath his gruffness.  Jenny is one lady who is tough, yet soft, and will do anything to get her man.  Jenny grew up to be a fine young spitfire who can handle anything and also becomes endearing to the reader.

Ms. Sala writes secondary characters that fulfill the bonds of friendship and family for Chance and Jenny and bring the reader a closeness to home they might identify with.  The mystery of learning about Chance’s past was intriguing and there were also a few unexpected surprises along the way that I was shocked to read.  Ms. Sala has written a poignant love story mixed with a bit of mystery that is highly recommended from this reviewer!
