| Jackson Ward is New Orleans Police Departments
loose cannon. He makes and lives by his own rules. He has had numerous partners in the
last three years, but after his latest partner is killed and he cant believe his new
partner is of the K-9 variety. When his Police Chief Clide Blais asks Jackson to return to
his hometown in Chicago, Jackson doesnt hesitate, he is tired of the heat in New
Orleans and is only too happy to oblige his boss. Chief Blais wants Jackson in Chicago to
clear his daughter Sunnis name in a murder investigation. The Chief knows that
Jackson wont play by the rules and he knows that he will stop at nothing to get the
job done. Jackson and his new partner Mac return to Chicago quietly, not letting
anyone know that they are in town until Jackson find out who the major players are that
could be involved in the murder. Sunni Blais is a Police
Chiefs daughter. She moved to Chicago to be on her own without any interference from
her parents, especially her overprotective father. Sunni is the prime suspect in a Mafia
related murder and is in desperate need of help. Sunni owns Silks, Inc, a lingerie store
and some of her own scarves were found at the murder scene. When she notices a Rambo type
guy following her, she is scared and is curious about who he is and what he wants with
her. When Sunni and Jackson, her Rambo meet one on one in her apartment, she
still doesnt trust him and when she learns that her father sent him to protect her,
she is determined for him to leave. But when the real murderer sets their sights on Sunni,
Jackson gets even closer to her by moving in with her which she considers a very bad idea.
The more Sunni and Jackson are together the more they want each other. Their intense heat
and attraction to each other could start a fire.....one that will never go out.
Wendy Rosnau packs a powerful wallop of suspense, danger,
excitement, humor, family loyalties and love with BENEATH THE SILK. This book has it all
and then some. Ms. Rosnau provides readers with an edge of their seat suspense with twists
and turns that will shake them up and have them scrambling for more. Jackson and his K-9
partner, Mac are adorable together and Mac keeps everyone around him on their toes, adding
a humorous touch to the story. Jackson is a man who is loyal to his family and friends. He
is a man that is hard-headed, strong, sexy, charismatic and a hell-raiser with a gentle
side and he will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. Jackson definitely meets his
match with Sunni Blais.
Sunni is equally as strong, hard-headed and determined as Jackson.
She keeps him hopping with her gorgeous body, the silks she wears, her intelligence and
her sweetness that she cant resist. The explosive heat whenever Sunni and Jackson
are together leaves the reader breathless, over-heated and eager for more.
Ms. Rosnau keeps the reader guessing with the mystery of who the
murderer is and with the relationship between Sunni and Jackson. I thought I knew early on
in the book who the murderer was, but I was completely wrong and shocked when it was
revealed who the murderer really was. I was thrilled with this book and could easily sit
and read it all over again. The story is not only powerful but the characters are also
powerfully amazing. Ms. Rosnau also sets up the story for her next book in this series,
featuring one of Jacksons brothers. Jackson along with Joey and Lucky
Masado grew up together on the streets of Chicago, were inseparable and will always be
there for each other, they are family.
I am very eager for book two in this Brotherhood Series. BENEATH THE
SILK was a spectacular, breathless read and I have no doubt Ms. Rosnau will have another
hit when the next book is released. This is my first Wendy Rosnau book and I am already
looking for her previously released titles. Wendy Rosnau is a dynamite author, who should
be on everyones list as one of their favorite authors.....shes definitely on
mine!
Watch for Joey Masados story in ONE WAY OUT, book 2 of the
Brotherhood Series, due for release in March 2003.
