Sanchona is Australian, a Chinese migrant from Malaysia. As a history graduate, she read all she could get about Australia, then started to do more research, an endeavour which led her to consider writing a novel based on her meticulous research. It took some 30 years of research, of writing and rewriting and then of looking for a publisher before she found ThomsonGale Five Star to publish her novel, "A Family of Strangers", a historical saga which tells a compelling tale set in the early convict days in Australia. Sanchona is presently busy working on her sequel.
